General FAQs

  • We are located at 1014 Cart Rd. in Belleville, IL! We are the first house on the right with the surrounding privacy fence. Pull up to the gate at drop off, and feel free to ring the doorbell or call/text the Hyped Hounds number upon arrival.

  • You can pull into the driveway when you arrive, and park right next to the front walkway! We ask that you park alongside the neighboring field if our drop off space is currently occupied by another client, and you can either wait there momentarily until the spot becomes available or walk up with your pup.

  • Of course! You’re more than welcome to come explore the yard and sunroom with your pup before booking by setting up a meet-and-greet with us!

Please Note: We don’t allow anyone inside our home because not every dog in our care enjoys meeting new people. This is also a home, not a boarding facility.

We do have a virtual home tour on our home page and a Hyped Home feature on our Instagram if you’d like to take a deeper look!

  • They do not! We understand that dogs need time to develop, and so we have no rules against intact dogs coming to stay or play. We do ask you not to bring females that are in heat to daycare, however we can accommodate boarding for females in heat by keeping them separate from any males and having you provide diapers. As our groups are temperament based, and some intact males may not do well with others, we will evaluate and place everyone in the group that fits them best.

  • As long as temperatures are within a safe range for dogs and there are no severe storm warnings, the pups all get to go outside to play! Be prepared for muddy paws after rainy days, and wet fur during snow showers! We recommend you cover your car seats and bring a towel to pick up, just in case.

  • We are fully insured by Kennel Pro, just in case of any accident that may occur! Dogs will be dogs, and sometimes they play a little too hard. We do not cover any pre-existing conditions or common illnesses under our policy, however we will always do our part in keeping your best friend healthy. In the case of an emergency, we will always try to take your pet to whatever vet you prefer before taking them somewhere else.

  • We try to allow them to sleep wherever they are used to! Do you kennel them at night? Are they a fan of the couch? Do they lounge in the kitchen? You can let us know, when you book your stay, what your pup prefers, and we will try to accommodate them as much as possible.

    • Bordetella

  • Please bring enough food for your dog’s stay, as well as a leash and collar. We’ll take care of bedding, toys, treats, and everything else they need.

  • Yes, you can pick up your dog during the morning window without being charged for that day. If you pick up after 4 pm, you will be charged for another night.

  • Definitely! If your pup has a specific personal item you’d like to bring to make them feel more comfortable, go for it. That’s what we’re all about, after all! We do ask, though, that you not bring any unessential items other than that. We have an excess of toys, kennels, bowls, etc., so I’m positive we’ll have whatever it is your furry friend needs.

  • We use 20-30ft, 1/4 inch, biothane long lines without handles when introducing pups to the yard. This allows them a full range of the acreage, while still giving them easy direction back inside and without having to interfere with their personal space. We also use long lines in order to redirect overexcited dogs and to keep all interactions positive.

  • You will need to bring enough food for your dog’s entire stay. We do not provide other foods, however if your dog runs out of food during their stay, we will purchase their same food and apply the cost to their stay.

  • We use balanced training methods here at Hyped Hounds. We believe in building a solid relationship with your dog, and making training fun before ever having to add in corrections. When it comes to corrections, it varies by dog what level they’ll need, and could be as slight as the word “no”. We use a wide array of tools, when needed, including ecollars, prong collars, martingales. and flat collars.

  • We strive, at Hyped Hounds, to send you home with all the “tools” you’ll need for success! After a Board and Train is finished, you’ll have an orientation where you’ll be introduced to everything your dog has learned, and how to continue their training at home. Lastly, each of our Board and Trains comes with a free One on One session at your home to help work out any kinks you may be having!
